This page is a heartbreak. I made it for my wife
who wanted a divorce. I made it to help remind her of how deeply
in love we had been. I put so many hours into this one that I
couldn't even begin to guess how long it took to make. It uses
real medieval pigments (some from semi precious stones that I
hand ground), and real gold on real sheep skin parchment. The
broad areas of gold are intricately tooled with tiny punches.
This 15th c Dutch style piece was the best thing I had made to
that date.
