The DFS 230 was both an assault and transport glider. It saw action earlier in WWII, and had a pivotal moment in the invasion of Crete. It did so well in that attack that the allies decided they really needed a glider program. But the losses were so heavy,the Germans decided not to use gliders much more than transports after that time. Not a bad looking model when it is finished.
